Large language models in programming @ DCS

By Marcell Stippinger 2024-10-21

This event, first of a series, kicks off the HUN-REN Wigner seminars on AI and ML, best practices based on the HUN-REN AI 4 Science Programme.

If you are interested in the efficient use of AI tools for coding understanding code and writing documentation, please come along. This session partly builds on the generative AI course that HUN-REN offers to its researcher community (i.e., to you).

Registration: indico page

Time: 15:30-17:00, Monday, October 21, 2024

Location: Department of Computational Sciences, HUN-REN Wigner RCP, Building 6, Floor 2

Intended audience: members of the HUN-REN Wigner RCP

Programme

  • About the theory of large language models (ChatGPT, Copilot, SZTAKI-hosted Llama)
  • registration process of Github Copilot for Wigner RCP users
  • advantages of ChatGPT plus (demo: upload data and write code with canvas function)
  • hands-on coding with the free version of ChatGPT (writing and refining a bash code, asking questions about a C API)
  • hands-on coding with Copilot (single-line, multi-line code prediction, refactoring, documentation in Python)
  • discussion (please bring your problems, requests, and ideas for HUN-REN with you)

Default language is Hungarian, for any request we switch to English.

See you there!
